get to know me.

My name is Jessica. I reside in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. I just turned thirty-TWO, and frankly, I couldn’t be happier about it. I always get asked what I am the MOST passionate about in this life. And when it comes right down to it, I can say that I am passionate about PEOPLE. Getting coffee with a friend or even a stranger has to be one of my most favorite things to do. Every single person has an interesting story to tell, which simply fascinates me. My husband is Jason Williams. I practically won the lottery the day I married him, ELEVEN years ago. He is my amazing partner in this life and makes life unexplainably more enjoyable. We do everything together, including working as photographers together. Sometimes marriage is hard, sometimes it’s easy. But life without Jason in it is no life I want.

I am a mother to two amazing little boys and a stunning little girl, who I am wildly crazy about. Cruz, Rider and Bravery are the coolest kids around. Being a mom is one of the best, hardest, most challenging, inspiring things I’ve ever done. It teaches me new things every single day. And while there are things about motherhood that I wish someone would have told me before I became a mom, I wouldn’t change any of it for anything. Except for the ability to wash my hair more. For reals.

I’m a photographer with Session Nine Photographers. My husband and I started our full time business six years ago and haven’t looked back. We shoot almost thirty weddings a year, over one hundred Lifestyle Sessions a year and a handful of other projects we are involved in as well. We manage to fill our days with lots and lots of people, their lives, and their stories. We are asked to travel on occasion and often tell others that we have the best clients ever. To say that we love what we do would just be a huge understatement.

I am inspired by a lot of different things. People inspire me daily. Especially people I’ve never met or talked to. Words inspire me deeply, therefore I try to choose my own words carefully. Although, my own mouth has been known to get me into trouble a time or two. I’m inspired by the ability that we have as humans to dream, create and build our own destiny. Nothing gets me fired up more than helping convince someone that they CAN reach their potential dream and make it a reality. The sky is the limit on what inspires me, really.

I can get lost in the amazingly stunning details of any wedding day. It’s my greatest pleasure to hear one of my brides talking all about her details that she’s planning for her wedding day, and then to walk into her wedding venue and to be able to photograph it all for her. I love pretty things, big and small, of all different styles. I’m obsessed with how a wedding day is truly an expression of each individual bride and groom. I view each wedding we photograph or attend as art, taking in all the small nuances that the bride so carefully chose to represent her day and to start the beginning of her journey in marriage. I will be posting wedding details that inspire me, that I think are original, and that I think are beautiful. But I won’t be posting any DIY’s because I’m not crafty in the least, and will leave that to the professionals.

I’m not a good cook. But I am getting better at it. Being a gourmet chef has always ‘not so secretly’ been one thing I’ve dreamed of doing. I wish I had the ability to throw together dishes that impressed the masses. These days, if I’m lucky enough to impress my husband with any given meal I’m trying to concoct, I’m a happy camper. Nevertheless, I WILL be posting my favorite recipes from time to time. You know, the true successes.

After all is said and done, it’s my goal with this blog to lift your spirits a little, and for you to leave a little happier than when you came. Because everyone knows that we could all use a little more happy in our days. I’m just a girl who’s inspired by life and who seeks any opportunity possible to spark a little inspiration into others.

So I hope you find just that.
